By day, Toi Powell lives a double life like that of secret spy, working in New York City as an interactive digital advertising manager. Awesome! Although the book is told in 3rd person, I found myself imagining as if Ruby was telling the story herself. I enjoyed the fact that it takes place in NJ/Queens as I was able to relate to the surrounding areas. I like that the author focuses on multiple characters' situations and then intertwines them throughout. It's definitely a cliff-hanger and never felt bored reading. Things slowly start coming together and just when you think you've uncovered the mystery, the first book ends.
