Bleaker Street
In the early morning hours, Marvin Luneson is seemingly rudely awakened from his bed. And yet, there is no need to worry or panic, this sort of thing happens every day at quarter to six. It’s just his landlady calling him down for some eggs and bacon. Waking so early happens to be Luneson’s least concern in life. The most being his strange and erratic bizarre thoughts that dog his awkward steps through his native town of Twichester. Twichester, meanwhile, tends to have it’s own problems as Luneson is but one of her more… unusual characters. The whole town is riddled lock stock and barrel with these ‘Bleakers’ as they’re affectionately known. Life for the Bleakers gets to be a little too Bleakerish for comfort and Luneson balances his life and that of his friends, who all happen to be of a similar make. It may be considered a sad thing that the most likely candidate for sanity in the whole of Twichester is a small dog named Bude. All in all, things could be worse for Luneson, he could be the dog. Just don’t tell him that, he’s trying to break the chains and enter into the golden lands of sanity. Did I say golden? I meant bleak. The only problem is that he doesn’t know how to get there and the path becomes lousy with shrinks visiting shrinks, candles of relaxation, scented spirit cats, cabbage salesmen, and one or two large tumblers of whiskey. Ok, maybe more than one or two, but who’s counting? Certainly not Marvin Luneson anyway.

About the Author

A long time ago a great writer was born. He has since written those works that have seen him become that great writer. Sometime in between Matthew Tombs was also born and has since written a number of works. Bleaker Street is a comedy of letters. Twisted words and odd occurrences make up Tombs' new work.
