Overview

The mastery of the Blackjack Freedom system will soon enable you to count cards in any casino and become an advantage player as skilled as any of those in the game’s colorful history. What follows is a four-part lesson that will provide you with the tools to embark on a career as a professional Blackjack player and enjoy all of the freedom that comes with it.
Part 1 is an overview of what card counting is, specifically the Hi-Lo count, which Blackjack Freedom employs. If you are a novice to the game, this is required reading. If you are an experienced player and are already a skilled practitioner of Hi-Lo, you may find this a helpful review.
Part 2 is a mathematical and practical explanation of Blackjack Freedom itself, its key differences from other systems, and why these differences make it simpler yet no less powerful. Also in this section is a table derived from the Blackjack Freedom system. It provides Running Count sequences which correspond to a given number of decks that have been dealt from the shoe. The table must be memorized, but it is only eleven lines of information.
Part 3 is the strategy to use given specific counts per deck. In other words, it tells you when to draw, stand, split, double, surrender, or take insurance. It too must be committed to memory, but it and the table from Part 2 all fit neatly on a 2-sided 3 x 5 card. This is the same card that I use to this day.
Finally, Part 4 details everything I have learned playing Blackjack professionally since 2001, including what to expect starting out, how to stay calm, what rules variations to look for, tips to avoid detection by casino staff, what kind of bankroll you’ll require, and other essential pieces of information. I know you’re probably as eager to get started as I was when I first developed the system, so let’s begin

About the Author

Dan Bailey grew up in a small town north of Chicago, in a family business. His interest in casino games began at a very early age when his parents would return from their yearly trip to Las Vegas and regale him with his father’s conquests or defeats at the craps table. He attended Northwestern University, graduating in 1986 with a degree in economics. He embarked on a brief, unheralded career as a stockbroker, and eventually became an accountant for private companies for the better part of thirteen years.
While at Northwestern, one of his math professors had written A Book on Casino Gambling. In one section, he covered Blackjack and the fundamentals of card counting. Dan became fascinated with the game and the fact that it could be beaten. He devoured every book on card counting that he could find, practiced and memorized all the rules and tables that he could, but was still never confident or proficient enough to risk real money in a casino. When he finally attempted it in 1991, he had two bad sessions and lost his $600 bankroll. He resolved never to play again unless his skill level increased measurably.
Ten years later, he was still tinkering with different systems in an attempt to simplify the calculation of the True Count. Eventually, in 2001 he discovered a way to arrive at the True Count without having to mentally divide the Running Count by the number of decks remaining in the shoe. This simplification finally allowed him to play profitably and professionally, and is the cornerstone of Blackjack Freedom.
Today, he no longer does accounting work for others. He owns and operates a successful restaurant in Arizona, made possible by Blackjack Freedom. He also makes frequent trips to local casinos and Las Vegas to play Blackjack. Dan Bailey is his real name, not an alias or pen name to protect his identity. He is comfortable with this for two reasons: First, the information he sells is authentic, created and copyrighted by him, and of real value, so he has no need for a pseudonym. Second, even though he continues to play Blackjack professionally in many different casinos, his anonymity is protected because he never plays with a player’s card that allows casinos to track his play or even know when he is there.
Dan sells his playing system because it in no way affects his profitability as a player and because he loves the thought that his innovation gives others the financial and personal freedom that he so desperately sought
