Overview

Black&Blue, as the name implies is a play on words; it illustrates in many ways how life beats up on us all, yet at the same time portrays the desperate treatment and history of minorities in the American justice system. The storied theme questions whether society has evolved in America over the last hundrred years, yet through love and enduring sacrifice shows that its within us all to make a change. Black & Blue is a historic struggle of one man against the system, the way its always been, sexist ideals, the good old boy system, religion, God and a body and mind that like so many of us, simply can't take it anymore. A dramatic compilation of stories ranging from crime and those who commit such acts to the raising of girls as a single parent are brought together with one theme, redemption of self and the answers to life's roadmaps. Through the ups and downs of life, making a living and raising three young ladies as a single parent the reader will see their own lives in police officer Davids Rhodes struggles. Raw humanity and inhumanity of mankind are a common theme, with the common questions of life ever present. What to do now? Where do I go? I can't do this anymore! In the end the answers to the questions, and with those answers the redemptive solice that its already worked out and everything will be OK.
