About the Author

Heather Moran is a secondary biology teacher, ocean bowl coach, and Envirothon coach. Her science teams have been state champions multiple years and have competed at the national level. In 2020, she was named Ohio’s Environmental Teacher of the Year by the Ohio Soil and Water Conservation District. She has led student groups to study science in Iceland, the Bahamas, and all over the United States. Ms. Moran received her bachelor of science in biology from Youngstown State University and her master of arts in curriculum and instruction from Ashland University.

An Ohio native, she is a lover of sushi, visiting Walt Disney World, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and snuggling with her exceptionally adorable english bulldog, Lucy.
