About the Author

In 2005, Paul A. Pannoni codirected the Westport Cemetery Identification Group to record and register 104 historical burial grounds with the town of Westport and the Massachusetts Historical Commission. Paul led the early effort to develop the town’s cemetery website and to launch online data elements about the cemeteries and burials. Paul also assisted in the town of Westport project to digitize all historical records dating from the town’s incorporation in 1787 to about the year 1920.

Dawn Manchester has more than thirty years’ experience researching family histories. Her frequent trips to the National Archives in Washington, DC, and to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, fortified by her digital photography and computer experience, provided the information necessary to write the detailed Westporter biographies presented in this book. As a young girl she became familiar with Westport’s many cemeteries and listened to stories about her relatives told by her father.
