Big Lin and Little Lin are separated shortly after the death of their parents and the story tells of their very different experiences in a world peopled with absurd creatures who represent the cruelties and inanities of greed and power. Zhang Tianyi, however, has a soft spot for his evil characters which are drawn with amusement and here and there a touch of compassion. Ultimately, greed is punished and the good prevail.
