Á Bientôt is a collection of poems that represent two pinnacle moments in time in Alexander Lainez's life.
After the loss of his father, he turned to poems he wrote after surviving relationship abuse and realized that the
feelings of grief and depression referenced in the poems were not far from how he felt, only this time
he was mourning the death of his father.
Through the process of compiling the poems for Á Bientôt, Alexander concluded that the healing he experienced
through the writing of the poems could possibly help others who have felt loss or have survived domestic abuse.
His intentions in sharing his poetry are to represent one way depression and grief are experienced,
not to represent how either emotion is felt by others. It is through this depiction that he hopes
that others may be able to process these difficult emotions.
