About the Author

High in his reclusive tower overlooking Central Park lurks Sir Rhymesalot, the defender of child literacy and champion of the rhyming verse. Completely preoccupied with the perfect and playful pairing of prose, adventure, and story, he is consumed by his mission of delivering a message between the lines that ebb and flow with musical poetry and magical mystery. David Geiser was an abstract expressionist painter, born in Rochester, New York in 1948. He studied at the University of Vermont, École des Beaux-Arts, and the Art Students League. In 1969, he moved to San Francisco and began drawing underground comix and cavorting with other underground comic creators such as S. Clay Wilson. He created several underground comic titles in the early 1970s, included Saloon, Demented Pervert, Clowns, Uncle Sham, DTs, Pain, and Edge City. He moved into oil painting in the late 1970s. Geiser moved to New York City in the early 1980s, where he concentrated on oil painting while moving into abstract expressionism. Geiser's paintings are tactile and deep, often being composed of many layers of shellack, pitch, tar, rope and scrap wood.
