Ann is a student to Magnolia Elementary School In New York City. She moved with her dad having to relocate due to his job needing him more in the city.. When Ann start's her first day at Magnolia Elementary, she is confronted by a bigger and taller kid named "Betsy Jenkins. . Betsy was the bully of the school for 3 yrs. straight and had bullied most darker kids before Ann. Betsy was an African American kid just lighter in skin complexion. Betsy starts to bully Ann all day from morning to the end of the school day.. Ann finds courage throughout her day while meeting a new friend and with older peers talking to her about standing up for herself when someone is bullying her.. Ann and Betsy become friends at the end of the day, after Betsy finds that all the students didn't like her bullying and pushing other's around.
