About the Author

Frederick William Faber (1814-1863) was a disciple of Bl. John Henry Newman, following him in his conversion to the Catholic Church. He is best remembered as the author of the hymn "Faith of Our Fathers" and as the translator of St. Louis de Monfort's True Devotion to Mary. He also wrote a number of devotional books and has been called "a master of mystical theology."
