Best Defense
Sabrina Hammonds has hired South Florida PI Beth Bowman to catch her husband, John Hammonds, in an affair. But Beth suspects this is no routine philandering husband case. Exhibit A: The "other woman" happens to be John's sister. Exhibit B: Sabrina has been murdered. Exhibit C: John and Sabrina's five-year-old daughter, Ashley, has been kidnapped.

With few leads to act on, Beth asks her friend Bob Sandiford and his crew of homeless associates to act as extra eyes and ears on the street. Racing against the clock, Beth knows that if their low-profile investigation doesn't turn up the identity of the kidnappers, there's little hope of finding Ashley alive.
