Overview

In March 2020, Bennett, age 5, takes cupcakes to school for his birthday; then, brings the cupcakes back home. Covid-19 has closed his school. For the next year, Bennett lives a sequestered life on a Missouri farm. Although he goes through the year with no other children, Bennett has an OK year with his Mom and Dad and the animals living around him. This nonfiction picture book has photos that make you feel like you're touching a long snake or a soft butterfly. Written to reassure kids that the world has safe and interesting places and we can all be OK. Bennett learns about animals and resilience and hopes we will all be OK. Pre-school - Grade 3.

About the Author

Bennett is now 6 years old. He plans to attend school next year (1st grade). Bennett's Kindergarten year was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Bennett spent his year learning about and playing with the animals in the woods, creeks, lakes, and fields around him. He loves nature and this wonderful world and he hopes you do too.
