About the Author

Susan B. Anderson has been knitting for over 30 years. She has authored five popular knitting books, Itty-Bitty Hats, Itty-Bitty Nursery, Itty-Bitty Toys, Spud&Chloe at the Farm, and Topsy-Turvy Inside-Out Knit Toys. Her next book will be released fall of 2015. Along the way Susan has designed for many magazines and both commercial and independent yarn companies, as well as self-publishing her own pattern line. She has been writing her popular and award-winning knitting blog, www.susanbanderson.blogspot.com, for the last eight years. She has two online workshops on craftsy.com. Susan’s true passion besides designing is teaching knitting workshops, which she is honored to do both nationally and beyond. Quince&Company makes beautiful yarns in natural fibers. We spin our yarns primarily in New England from wool sourced from American sheep. We began with four classic wool yarns in weights from sport to chunky. Today we make eight different yarns in the US and import two organic linen yarns from Italy. We ship our yarns all over the world—from Tanzania to Korea to Argentina. Notes

The doll is worked from the top down, starting from the crown of the head. The head is shaped first by increases, then decreases to form the neck. The shoulders and raglan-shaped yoke are worked similarly to a top-down sweater by increasing to the underarm. The arms are held on waste yarn to work body, then legs are divided and worked down to the shoes. The arm stitches are then picked up and worked down to the hands.
