We all know that manipulation exists; the unknown factor is, to
what extent. While everyone in this book may have experienced a
very exaggerated version of manipulation, we can't ignore that
everyday things, in our everyday lives play mind games on
us...every day. I thought about democracy, and the school system,
and medicine, and social media, and how almost everything was
designed to make us think a certain way, whether that be from a
general knowledge view of what we're taught from birth or the
people we hang around with. Various forms of mind games appear
in the book, administered by close companions and the
government. While this is somewhat of a dystopian novel, it sheds
a light on an issue that has affected us humans since that serpent
opened its mouth to speak to Eve: manipulation.
