About the Author

Once upon a Super Blue Wolf Moon, Lori R. Lopez was born along the side of a dead-end street that led to a small red cottage with a purple and yellow door. Inside the quaint house, she found a closet filled with exceptional hats. Every hat she tried on made her act in a different manner, usually odd and untoward, occasionally inside-out with the tags of her clothing visible. One day, a mouse named Twinklenose crawled up her leg and tugged at her elbow. “Beware the Tinderfooted Frumplebee!” whispered the rodent. “She loves to sting little girls who try on her hats!” Lori was quite a bit frightened and scurried from the dwelling hastily as she might while balancing an armful of stacked headwear. An alarming hum rose behind her, but she never looked back and continued to run until she reached a Thumbtack Store with a Help Wanted sign in the window. The shopkeeper offered the waif a position pushing thumbtacks into bulletin boards. She said no thanks. Her dream had always been to write fairytales. And nursery rhymes. And other sorts of quirky literary pursuits. She is doing exactly that to this day, I imagine. If you should bump into her on a dead-end street and the moon is Blue and Full, larger than ordinary, remember to tip your hat and wish her a Happy Birthday. Please do not sing it as she is allergic to redundant songs and high-pitched or low-pitched or in-betweenly-pitched notes. The End
