Overview

Saniyah has never known what it felt like to fly in the sky. She was born with only one wing and has never felt beautiful because of her disability. All her life feeling alone and unworthy, she sought out on an adventure seeking help from different animals to provide her with the whereabouts of a beautiful butterfly named Shaquan in hopes of being accepted and feeling beautiful within.

As Saniyah travels the land, she comes across many different animals who provided her with directions to find the beautiful butterfly Shaquan but to her dismay, Saniyah faces a challenge along her journey that causes her to lose hope in ever meeting Shaquan.

In the end, Saniyah encountered the beautiful _butterfly Shaquan who was born with a disability of her own but all Saniyah saw was a beautiful butterfly before her. Saniyah learns that although Shaquan· suffered the same mental and emotional anguish as her for being born different, she overcame her difficult experiences by learning to embrace her beautiful imperfections.

About the Author

Author - Illustrator Fritz G. DeJOIE, Jr. is on a mission to encourage our present and future generations around the world to increase their value and devotion, to have a greater impact in their communities. As a youth, Mr. DeJOIE suffered from a mental induced psychosis and was sent to a psychiatric institution for children. He was afraid to come forward as a victim of bullying because of his imperfections but instead made poor choices to fill in that void, in hopes of being accepted in his community.

Mr. DeJOIE eventually found his way back to the path of which his loving parents instilled within him, harnessed his positive energy and directed it toward acquainting children with the ability to speak up against bullying and to no longer feel unappreciated because of their imperfections.

Mr. DeJOIE obtained his Associates, Bachelors, and Master’s Degrees in the studies of Theology and has helped many children overcome their fiery ordeals to continue becoming the light that shines in our troubled world.

He proudly became the Founder/C.E.O of the entertainment company, Saving Our Generation, L.L.C in order to continue breathing his aspirations into existence by helping our children to no longer allow their voices to go unheard and peacefully express their individuality with confidence.
