About the Author

CJ Hernley has spent over 28 years in the remote regions of the Alaskan coastal bush. She has owned a commercial fishing operation, fished in the Bering Sea for King Crab, worked for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the US Forest Service. All the while she has studied bears, lived with them, and thoroughly test driven all manner of theory on bear behavior. A survivor of 4 charges and 2 rare predatory events, she speaks with authority on how to handle close encounters of the most dangerous kind. With or without bear spray and guns.
