Overview

A single act of violence causes a once loving marriage forged in the furnace of WWII to be almost torn apart in the fiery hell of the Vietnam era. Three-star General Leland Thornton, retired, suffers a severe personality change from an old war wound that causes him to assault his wife of 25 years, sending her to the hospital and landing him in jail. About the Author

I am an Air Force, Vietnam era, veteran and was assigned to the Strategic Air Command, Headquarters 8th Air Force at Westover AFB, MA in 1960. After my husband’s discharge from the Air Force we moved to his hometown of Shreveport, LA. A few years following I went to work for AT&T’s telephone manufacturing plant in Shreveport where I worked for 21 years. In the late 1980’s my husband took a promotion with Gannett News Service and we moved to Northern Virginia. There I worked for a mortgage bank for a couple of years. Following that, I worked for the Central Intelligence Agency where I remained for 16 years until my retirement in 2005.
