Description: This is the fifth edition of one of the primary comprehensive textbooks in otolaryngology. The last edition was published in 2006.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide a complete review of otolaryngology. This is an update of what has become one of the go-to books for practitioners and residents in otolaryngology. The authors have done a phenomenal job in achieving this worthy objective.
Audience: Intended for residents and practitioners in otolaryngology, the book is written by a who's who in otolaryngology.
Features: Each chapter has a nice "highlights" section at the end to reinforce concepts. Every copy has an online access code to a website that provides additional resources, including videos. The images are very good.
Assessment: This is an outstanding textbook. It is the most current, complete book in the field. It represents one of the two or three most commonly used references in otolaryngology. This edition is justified due to the plethora of new information in this field since the previous edition.
