She is a former U.S. Department of State foreign services employee and she has worked for the African Wildlife Foundation, the Houston Zoo, and the Ventana Wilderness Sanctuary in Big Sur, California. She lives in Houston. Rosemarie Gillen is the illustrator for several books, including Where Is God, Grandfather? She lives in Washington, DC.
