About the Author

Theodore Roosevelt III:

The author of this book, Theodore "Ted" Roosevelt III, is the eldest son of Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, who served as the 26th President of the United States. Affectionately called "Theodore Jr." by friends, Ted served in both World Wars of the 20th Century. This book recounts his exploits in World War I. During World War II, he was the only general to land with the first wave of troops by sea on D Day. A month following his landing at Utah Beach, he died suddenly near Sainte-Mère-Église in Normandy. Theodore "Ted" Roosevelt III was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, and was buried at the American Cemetery in Normandy, France.
