About the Author

Dawn Heese is a third-generation quilter and cross stitcher. Inspired by a quilt in a magazine, she bought her first rotary cutter and mat in 1999 and hasn’t stopped quilting since. She particularly loves needleturn appliqué and hand quilting. Her love of traditional designs stems from fond childhood memories of being surrounded by quilts. Dawn lives in Columbia, Missouri, where she works part time as a hairstylist. Mom to two grown sons, she is also a member of the Boonslick Trail Quilters Guild as well as several sewing groups. She teaches and presents trunk shows at quilt shops and guilds nationwide. Dawn has her own pattern company, Linen Closet Designs, and her designs have been featured in national and international magazines. This is her fifth book with Kansas City Star Quilts.
