Chapter 2 begins the detailed description of Proterozoic aulacogens which include the Midcontinental Rift, East Continental & Fort Wayne Rifts, and the New Madrid Seismic Zone (Reelfoot Rift). Chapter 3 presents Paleozoic aulacogens, discussing the Southern Oklahoma Aulacogen including its various components, the Ouachita Rift Zone, the Southern Oklahoma Fault System, Anardarko Basin, Palo Duro Basin of Texas, the Rome Trough, the New Mexico Aulacogen, and the Delaware Aulacogen of New Mexico.
