Overview

Joel Rydell made it big once, got himself out of the hole he grew up in, but now he's starting from scratch again after being framed by the same company that he'd made his name with. Joel is a smug know it all who you can't help but love, with a quick wit, and a deep empathy for nature and his fellow man. When an ex reaches out to him with an opportunity, to reclaim the life stolen by the company that made him public enemy number one, he can't refuse. Together with the assistance of a dead coworker whose mind is trapped in the net, a hotel chain CEO billionaire, a local drug dealer, and a tattooed war refugee, Joel sets off on his international quest to take down Yermak, a Russian shipping corporation that is more than what it seems.

About the Author

Jack Harkless was born and raised in Meadville, a small town less than an hour south of the shores of Lake Erie. Jack is an Eagle Scout, a father, and an aspiring political candidate in his home town. Each of which can be glimpsed in aspects of At What Cost. While this is Jack’s first completed work of fiction he’s no stranger to the written word, an avid collector of books himself you could find Jack skimming through the shelves of an old book store any day of the week.

In Jack’s professional life he works as a Program Specialist in the city of Erie overseeing group homes for clients with intellectual disabilities. It is here that Jack is able to share his love of nature and literature with his clients and staff alike, taking trips out to Presque Isle and always recommending a new book.

It is Jack’s hope that through his writings he remind people of the places of beauty that surround them wherever they may be. As well as to show the fragile nature of such places if not given the stewardship they require.
