About the Author

Gary A. Fisher served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1970, as well as in the Navy and Army Reserves, and is a member of the American Legion, and a supporter of the World War II Memorial Society, and the U.S. Navy Memorial Fund. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he has one daughter, Tanya and currently resides with his wife Kathryn in Richland, Washington. He inherited his cousin Merle’s diary in 1985, and is publishing it to commemorate his service and sacrifice for the United States.
