Philip D. Sloane, M.D., M.P.H., a geriatrician with broad clinical background in long-term care, is Elizabeth and Oscar Goodwin Distinguished Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and co-author of the text Dementia Units in Long-Term Care. J. Kevin Eckert, Ph.D., widely recognized as a leading expert on board and care, is a professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, as well as a co-author of the text Small Board-and-Care Homes: Residential Care in Transition.
