Suewong D. McFadden is a dynamic author and accomplished educator based in Phoenix, Arizona, with roots in Durham, North Carolina. Her literary journey began in April 2020 with the release of her debut children’s book, In Ms. McFadden's Class. A year later, she expanded her creative portfolio with In Ms. McFadden's Class Coloring & Activity Book, released in May 2021.
In September 2021, McFadden established the Amir & Asia Book Series, a collection designed to inspire, educate, and entertain young readers. The series' breakout title, Bossy Asia, debuted in July 2023, kicking off her first book tour, The Bossy Asia Book Tour, which spanned from December 2023 to December 2024. Building on this momentum, McFadden launched her second tour in January 2025, with the upcoming releases of
The High School Poetry Series (THSS) and Angry Amir solidifying her presence as a trailblazing author.
With over nine years of experience in education, McFadden seamlessly blends her passion for teaching with her talent for storytelling. Born in the Bronx, New York, and raised in Lexington, North Carolina, McFadden earned her B.A. in Theatre Education from North Carolina Central University in 2016 and her MAT in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Phoenix in 2022. Her educational philosophy, rooted in equity and innovation, has earned her recognition for her work with at-risk students and her ability to foster creativity in the classroom.
In September 2024, McFadden opened the Suewong McFadden Academy (SMA), a micro-school that integrates cultural, artistic, and academic excellence into its curriculum. SMA serves as a testament to McFadden's vision of holistic and impactful education.
