Don’t Be a Team Player reminds us that sometimes being a team player is not the best choice. Her Musical Methodist Hands is a poem about my mother. Itching As She Lay Sleeping has to do with scratching. The Ostrich and the Peckerwood is political satire. Auspicious Man is about a man that is favored with fortune. Poem For Spencer is a sad poem about one of my former Biology students. Don’t be a cad is a lesson. Like a Candle Written On a Shaker Screen is inspired by a song. Brown Skin Guitarra is about my guitar. Flocculated Mudman is about a time on a drilling rig off the coast of the Congo. The City That Doesn’t Honk is about Houston. Auspicious Man spotlights a lucky man. Memories and Trinkets is a sad poem. Golfing Lemurs is a long form poem about golfing with lemurs in a far away forest.
