Overview

Here’s help for those who find prayer routine and boring. Your problem may not be so much failure of will (you do try to pray well) but lack of knowledge about mature prayer — and the good news is that it’s easily overcome.

This book contains prayer basics for folks who already pray! It’s not that praying is complicated, but only that most of us have been doing it for so long that we pray automatically without really thinking about it. Where did you learn to pray? At your mother’s knee? From the nun who taught your religion class? Has your understanding of prayer matured since then, or, like the rest of us, do you simply pray, year after year, as you were taught as a child?

No wonder most people have ended up with so many erroneous notions about prayer. No wonder our prayers are still far from what they should be. Only God’s grace could perfect your prayers overnight, but this remarkable book offers practical ways you can improve your prayers today and grow closer to God.
