Overview

"Some memories, like scars, linger even after healing..."

Amidst the throes of grief over the loss of her sister, Rebekah Daroh is confronted by a phantom. "Guardian," it calls her as it searches her mind for something, or someone. Dragged into a realm of souls by the phantom, Rebekah begins to question her sister's fate. With the help of unlikely allies, she sets out in search of answers.

Niko Ortez, a Special Agent with the FBI, works on a slew of cold cases concerning missing persons, one of which is Rebekah's sister, Nicole. Upon examination, the routine cases reveal something much darker at play and Niko investigates the disappearances, equipped with a haunting theory.

Paths cross and secrets emerge at the Armitage Hotel, where a violent storm imprisons the guests with a killer. Searching for answers, what lies in store for the budding agent and grief-stricken young girl will change both of their lives.

About the Author

Atlas Creed is a husband and father of three, and segments his time for writing around what matters most-his family. Beyond writing, he is an avid reader, with several inspirations for his craft, such as Stephen King, Justin Cronin, Brent Weeks, Ursula Le Guin, Anne Rice, Agatha Christie, Gillian Flynn, J.K. Rowling, H.P. Lovecraft, James Patterson, George R.R. Martin, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Lee Child, just to name a few. He has a musical background, guitar and piano being his first creative outlet, he moved on to audio production and for a time dabbled in audiobook narration. There was always a passion for storytelling, but that passion didn't truly evolve into writing until some spur of the moment inspiration persuaded him to write a short story for his wife, which eventually turned into a full-length novel, that he vowed no one would ever see except for her.As a writer, Atlas seeks to create new worlds for readers to explore, with stories being developed in several genres including Urban Fantasy, Thriller, Horror, and Sci-fi. His focus is on characters, ensuring that their development resonates with readers. "We are not perfect, and those imperfections, as we embrace them, shape who we are." Atlas believes that the world, the story, and any machinations derived from those elements are useless without characters to interact with them, and how that interaction is achieved and woven together is where the magic happens.
