About the Author

Steve Physioc “Phiz” has been telling stories for the past forty-five years. He has been a play-by-play announcer for football, baseball, and basketball for both college and the pros. Physioc is currently the radio and TV broadcaster for the Kansas City Royals and won an Emmy in 2013 for his work. Steve is also the award-winning author of The Walls of Lucca, and Above the Walls, a historical fiction series set in WWI and WWII Italy. His latest novel, Walks with the Wind, about a Native American young man’s quest to play Major League Baseball, won the 2021 Writer’s Digest grand prize for contemporary fiction. The sequel, Catching the Wind, was released in the spring of 2022. Steve, and wife, Stace, have two children and three grandchildren. They make their home in Stilwell, Kansas.

Rex Hudler “Hud” is a former Major League baseball player after being a first-round draft choice of the New York Yankees in 1978. After his pro-ball career, he became a sports broadcaster and is currently the TV broadcaster of the Kansas City Royals. His memorable “Hud-isms” are beloved fan favorites. He is an active motivational speaker and with his wife Jennifer, founded “Team Up for Down Syndrome.” They have four children and make their home in Overland Park, Kansas.
