Overview

Welcome to this first instalment of the ARABIC, WHY NOT?–عربي لماذا لا؟series, which will help you to improve your Arabic listening and writing skills through easy to follow lessons that are accompanied by free videos to be found on our YouTube channel (Romy Matthies).
This first volume includes lessons 1 to 10 and is aimed for beginning and intermediate learners of Arabic. Later releases of this series will provide texts for more advanced learners. Each lesson includes the text in Arabic script and an English translation. Please note, that the translation into English provides the context but is not necessarily a one-to-one translation.
For the best learning results, first listen several times the recordings provided in the YouTube videos trying to capture the general meaning of each text. Later, read along the Arabic text while you listen and enhance your understanding with the help of the English translation. At the last stage, you can improve your Arabic writing skills by listening to the slowly spoken version of the text, write along and compare to the original provided in this book and the YouTube videos.
We hope you enjoy ARABIC, WHY NOT? – عربي لماذا لا؟ Part I.
