Overview

What you are about to read is a section from a book I am writing entitled The "Real" Revolution in the Muslim World: the Kingdom of God Emerging. I deal with a range of issues in the book related to the Gospel impacting the Arab Muslim world. It is highlighting the supernatural ways that God is working, but it also looks at some of the other effective means that God is using, including a strong emphasis upon the importance of the existing Christian Church (all branches thereof). It's a book about the primacy of God's love and a call for true Kingdom unity amongst those who name the Name of Christ in the Middle East in order to see a revival that will lead millions of Muslims out of the darkness of Islam and into the Kingdom the Triune God.

This particular chapter is admittedly one of, if not the most controversial, in the book. It represents a dramatic change in our understanding of God’s will that has radically changed the nature of our 20-year ministry in the Arab World. Even as I am writing this, I am wondering if I shouldn't swap out this chapter and release another one instead. That would be out of character for me so I’m publishing this one first. I guess you can think of it in this way - "Extreme circumstances require extreme measures." The spiritual condition of the Muslim world constitutes those extreme circumstances, and a life and ministry resembling Jesus', the extreme measures. Radical Islam continues to gain ground all over the Middle East. This is a chapter wherein I am trying to cast a fresh new vision for healing ministry primarily amongst Muslims but of course is applicable to the context of a profoundly secular, non-Christian West as well. Remember that this is just one of over 20 chapters and by excising it to stand alone, I have essentially ripped it from its larger context. I trust this chapter will wet your appetite to read the forthcoming book.
