Ganed ef yng Nghaerfyrddin ond symudodd y teulu i Fangor lle'r aeth i'r ysgol ac yna i'r Brifysgol. Mae'n aelod o dîm Talwrn y Beirdd, Y Taeogion, gyda Ceri Wyn Jones ac Emyr Davies. Bu'n Fardd Plant Cymru yn 2004-5 a chyhoeddwyd ei gasgliad cyflawn cyntaf o gerddi i blant, Rhywun yn Rhywle gan wasg Gomer yn 2005. Ef hefyd oedd golygydd y gyfrol hardd Trysorfa T. Llew Jones ac awdur Trysorfa Arwyr Cymru.
