The fourth book in the Anne of Green Gables Series. In this novel, 22-year-old Anne has left college to serve as principal of Summerside High School and settles down in Windy Poplars. Anne has to overcome opposition to her presence from an influential family, the Pringles. The Pringles family make it well known she was not what they had hoped for in their new Prinicipal. She also finds new friends in Aunt Kate, Aunty Chatty and Rebecca Dew.

About the Author

Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874-1942) was a Canadian author and writer of 20 novels, 30 essays, 500 poems and 530 short stories. She is best known for the Anne of Green Gables series of children's books. Most of her fictional works are set in Canada's smallest province, Prince Edward Island. In 1935, Montgomery was made an officer of the Order of the British Empire.
