About the Author

Debra Volkov-Draheim is a second-generation Russian immigrant to the United States. She spent her early years in the Molokan faith in Los Angeles, California. Her maternal grandmother's autobiography alluded to the event. An interest was sparked, and she researched historical documents to learn more. But details were sparse. To keep this historical event from being lost, she studied the craft of writing. This novella is a blending of her studies and her passion for her ancestral history.
