ANGST
Angst is unavoidable in the human condition. Sudden change, reversals of fortune, unanticipated loss, downturns in health or wealth, all trigger angst in the best of us. These crises elicit emotion, and often those responses find their fullest voice in poetic form. Poetry, by nature, insists upon a modicum of words. The result, when properly done, is a powerful vehicle for expressing intense feeling and emotion. This collection, which spans decades, deals with the difficulties and triumphs of being human. Subjects vary from the innocent joys of childhood escapades, to the aftermath of open-heart surgery complications. Narrow-minded opinions are broached, with the hope of awakening public consciousness to the need for further advancement of the entire human race. Emotional and physical pain are the topics of several poems, which are not to be seen as negative, but merely a reality for many Americans. We are all playing out the cards which were dealt to us, and these poems reflect the highs and lows which we all experience.

About the Author

The author continues to live on the family apple orchard, which has sustained generations. A student of human nature, theology, and spiritualism, he has been writing for decades, under the assumption that nothing is more powerful than the printed word.
