Overview

"Angels At My Door" is a collection of stories and drawings from various children for whom the HIV virus has had a massive impact in their lives. Charming, inspirational, and poignant all at the same time, "Angels at My Door" is a top pick for children's picture book collections and a good buy for any child whose life has been torn apart by this disease.

In preparation for this very special children’s project for the More Life Celebration, I restudied Tony Kushner’s “Angels in America.” His words explicitly describe the painful and often lonely existence of those with AIDS. Kushner’s humor is astounding and his cry for democracy for one and all, including victims of AIDS, is life altering.

This seemingly very adult subject of suffering is not without children in it’s midst.

When I want to understand any question of truth more clearly, I simply speak to a child. Still filled with the ability to believe, a child is easily connected to spiritual and wonderous views of the world. More open and forgiving, a child sees AIDS through the eyes of hope; how to love someone with AIDS, how to pray for them, how to remind to take care of themselves, and that no matter what everything will be ok no matter what the outcome.

This book is for children, or anyone of any age, to create their own stories of courage and faith. To explore the angels in their life and the gifts of grace given to those who suffer.

It’s a work of art in progess!
