Overview

"And there will be people" is an epic novel about Ukrainians in Poltava region in the first decade after the establishment of Bolshevik-Soviet power in Ukraine in the 1920s. The title of the novel comes from the last line of Taras Shevchenko's poem "Both Archimedes and Galileo": "And there will be a son, and there will be a mother, And there will be people on earth." According to Dimarov, he planned "And there will be people" as a great epic about the Ukrainian countryside from the end of 1880 until Stalin's death, dared to mention the famine, collectivization, and because of that the work "cut, blood was drained."
