About the Author

Janet Lynn Combs Kaufman earned a nursing degree from Purdue University and worked in the field of nursing for thirty years. She also earned a bachelor's degree in management from The University of Phoenix and served as the CEO of a pharmaceutical research company.


An interest in ancestry led Kaufman to take up an avocation in genealogy and complete the American certification of genealogical studies at the University of Toronto. Having proven ancestry to soldiers in the American Revolution and Indiana pioneers, she is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Society of Indiana Pioneers, respectively. She also holds memberships to the National Genealogical Society and The Beresford Family Society of England.


Kaufman has spent twenty years studying the field of genealogy and researching her family history. Ancestral Paths tells her family's story and serves as a reference guide for others to discover their own ancestors.
