About the Author

Julie Stephens was born to a catholic family in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she lived until the family moved to Texas, in the mid 1960’s. Julie graduated from Nolan High School in Fort Worth, Texas and earned a BFA in theater and a M.Ed. at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she was both on stage in the theater and on staff at the university newspaper. Julie has authored or co-authored three books: Reflections in the San Juan Mountains, Tea and Talk with Friends with Amy Pierson, and Mountain Devotional with Candy Beebe. Since 2013 Julie has been on staff writing a column for the local, award winning, Lake City, Colorado newspaper, The Silver World. Julie and her husband have a grown son and daughter and the couple enjoys living and hiking at almost 9,000 feet up in the tiny mountain village of Lake City.
