Very relatable...brings back good memories.-Wonderful collection of poems. My favorite and most endearing was Straighting Comb. I remember those days sitting in my mom's, aunte's or grandmother's kitchen getting my hair straightened. Not only was it a time of laughter and bonding, but it's somewhat of a right of passage for women of color. I'm sure men feel the same way about going to the barber shop as young boys with an older brother, father or uncle.
