Overview

In this book I have covered various subjects, some of which no one likes to think, or even talk about. I am referring to Parasites and Worms.

This is often thought of as a Third World country problem. But think again. This is a serious issue in the United States as well as Europe. Because many of these “creatures” are so small and can only be seen under a microscope, they are often difficult to detect, but their activities within the human body can be devastating. And it is not always easy to get rid of them

I also cover Candida which is not something only women have a problem with, but men do too. Like parasites and worms, if this is left untreated over a period of time then, it too can have a very detrimental effect on the human body.

Constipation is a scourge of the Western world, where a diet that is high in fat, sugar, salt, additives and colors and low in fiber is the norm. Couple this to a lack of exercise, and the end result is often irregular bowel movements.

I sometimes think the Spanish and Italians have the right idea with their noon siesta. Over the years I have worked in both countries. Lunch can take several hours. The meal is not rushed, there is time to relax and enjoy good food, a little wine and good conversation.

This contrasts sharply with what I invariably see at lunchtime, especially in the US and the UK where someone is either hurrying down the street with lunch in hand eating as they go, or they use a drive-thru fast food outlet and eat lunch while driving, because there is so much to cram into every day and every minute seems to count.
The body has little chance to digest the food properly. The end result is often indigestion, intestinal problems and constipation which then leads to a toxic build-up in the colon of fetal matter that has not been eliminated.

I make some suggestions with regard to dietary changes including getting regular exercise and adequate rest and sleep which will have a profound effect on your well-being.

Finally I have written a section on Detoxing to rid the body of all the poisonous toxins which build up in the color, liver, kidneys and body tissue.
Interestingly some people can lose between 7–9 pounds in weight just by doing a colon cleanse. This extra weight is impacted toxic waste which has resided in the colon, in some cases for many years.

In each of the sections, with the exception of detoxing, I have included a list of medications which may be prescribed by your doctor. In addition I have also provided a list and description of alternatives, mainly in the form of natural herbal products which have been used historically—in some cases for thousands of years, to treat these conditions. I have also suggested vitamins and minerals along with essential fatty acids where appropriate.

In the detoxing section, I have only listed herbal products. There are many of these available which are very effective. After doing a detox, in all probability you will have more energy and will often look and feel healthier.

I have written this book in an easy to understand style, designed to increase your knowledge of these often little talked about conditions, which if left untreated, can have a very detrimental effect on your health.
