Matt loves music and working with everything audio. Originally from West Texas, he moved to DFW
after marrying his wife Lara. He started studying music in Junior High when he played trumpet in the
school band. In high school he left the trumpet behind and instead picked up guitar. In college he minored
in Music. During that time he performed with the university concert, pep, and jazz bands as well as
local West Texas rock bands New Days Dawn and Silence the Khaos.
He has invested his time in learning a number of different instruments such as drum set, violin, piano,
and classical guitar to round out his musical knowledge. After graduating with his BA in English he
decided to pursue a more application based education and enrolled at South Plains College in their Sound
Technology Applied Sciences program. He went on to graduate from SPC with honors and
earned his Operator level certification in Pro Tools for Music.
Post graduation, Matt launched Audio Mutt Studios as a brand and platform for him to do freelance
audio work in a wide variety of areas. He has released a full length album, produced numerous videos for
local schools, worked as a guitar tech, and composed music for podcasts and online video series. He
has experience in sound design/audio post as well as music production. In his free time he enjoys
playing video games, Dungeons & Dragons, and just being an all-around huge nerd with his friends and
family including his infant son.
