You don't need to make the truffles with a wood-heated oven, which the Amish would use. No need to do that.

And you may even use a microwave, which the Amish do not have.

You will make Amish-recipe truffles with a modern kitchen-friendly recipe evolved from a traditional recipe my Mom handed down. (Yes, I grew up Amish.)

This basic truffle recipe is presented step by step. Supporting chapters are in the book for things you might want to brush up on, such as chocolate melting, cream cheese portioning, how to dip a truffle in chocolate, and so forth.

It is designed to be easy. To be fun. And to result in a truffle that is nearly (or wholly) irresistible.

The recipe is for one flavor, a basic truffle flavor, obtained from 3 ingredients: white chocolate, cream cheese, and milk chocolate.

The recipe is almost verbatim from another truffle book by the same author, "Amish Recipes: Milk Chocolate-Covered White Chocolate Truffles," that has 22 recipes for truffles of various flavors. When that book was published, it was recognized that some people may be hesitant about buying the book because they are unsure if they have the skills to make truffles.

About the Author

Will Bontrager was raised Amish in Iowa and Wisconsin, USA. (There's lots to say about the Amish, but that's outside the scope of this particular bio. If interested, do a web search for "Old Order Amish".)

At almost 17 years of age, during year 1970, he left home to go to high school and experience the world outside the Amish community. He never returned to the Amish lifestyle.

His primary interests, other than interacting with people, are cooking, writing software, and writing both non-fiction and fiction.

He has been cooking pretty much all of his adult life, and is now writing about it.
