About the Author

Rolf McEwen earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Puget Sound and a Master of Education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He studied art, music, history, and literature in Rome and Vienna. He has written and/or adapted plays including The Honeymoon, Mad Love, Ladies of Learning, Inspector Strangelove, Love Will Find a Way, The War, The Joseph Story, Esther the Queen, The Institute, The End of America, Song of the Glorious King, The Fan, The Miser, Deceits of Samson, The Middle Class Gentleman, and The Imaginary Invalid. He wrote a how-to book, For Love of Drama, explaining how to create theatre arts programs that are successful and financially profitable.

His flair for ridiculous comedy is apparent in his humorous book, Survival Tactics for Office Workers, about how to cope with a temporary or just plain boring job. He also wrote a collection of poetry entitled Amazing World.

McEwen has been directing high school plays for 32 years, and has produced 71 full-length plays for the stage. He teaches high school writing, literature, speech, and drama, and was selected for awards including Who’s Who among College Students and Who’s Who among Teachers.
