Overview

Captain Zeke Kinsley, commanding the Royal Galactic Naval Cruiser, The Lucky Strike, was only too happy to volunteer to search out stragglers from a just-ended minor system conflict.

After the last several years of seeing heavy action, he and his crew were looking forward to a simple task that should be relatively peaceful. With their sister ship, the Destroyer Jackal, they enter a nearby system unprepared for the ambush by an armada awaiting them. At first, they believe it is the group they were searching for, only to find out it is a new alien race known as the Chohish.

As the Jackal flees to get help, Captain Kinsley battles through one of the Chohish fleets in a desperate attempt to reach one of the two populated planets in this system. Making it finally to the main planet just ahead of the enemy, he meets the very people he was chasing. They join forces in a frantic bid to save the survivors on the two planets. The fate of millions depends on them holding off multiple enemy fleets until help arrives. Desperate, they attack the Chohish at every opportunity in a hit-and-run scenario.

But will that be enough? Can help arrive in time?

About the Author

Since I was a young adult, I have been an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy, and action/adventure.

H. G. Wells, Edgar Rice Burroughs, David Drake, Andre Norton, and Isaac Asimov are some of the authors that influenced my love of reading.

I retired in 2018 from a career in Information Technology.

After 40 years in IT, I have developed a new passion for writing stories.

I grew up in the Northeast and moved south to Texas for work in the mid-eighties. I love living there with my wife, Melinda, who has been my greatest fan and motivator.
