There are no rules in murder. Some kill for love, some for hate, some for sport, and some from fear. People in law enforcement know this. Armed with the knowledge given them by professional profilers and the forensic work done at crime scenes, most murders are solvable. Then there are those few that seem to confound even the wisest of investigators. The reason is simple; some people kill because they must.
Alone is a story that you will remember. Not just because it is a little different, but because in the end it will hopefully make you look more closely at the people around you, listen more carefully to their conversations, and perhaps think twice about meeting them after dark.
There is an old saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” I’m guessing that means people too.
