All the Little Liars
#1 New York Times bestseller Charlaine Harris returns to her Aurora Teagarden mystery series with a fabulous new book featuring the small-town Southern librarian. Aurora Teagarden is basking in the news of her pregnancy when disaster strikes her small Georgia town: four kids vanish from the school soccer field in an afternoon. Aurora's 15-year-old brother Phillip is one of them. Also gone are two of his friends, and an 11-year-old girl who was just hoping to get a ride home from soccer practice. And then there's an even worse discovery-at the kids' last known destination, a dead body. While the local police and sheriff's department comb the county for the missing kids and interview everyone even remotely involved, Aurora and her new husband, true crime writer Robin Crusoe, begin their own investigation. Could the death and kidnappings have anything to do with a group of bullies at the middle school? Is Phillip's disappearance related to Aurora's father's gambling debts? Or is Phillip himself, new to town and an unknown quantity, responsible for taking the other children? But regardless of the reason, as the days go by, the most important questions remain. Are the kids still alive? Who could be concealing them? Where could they be? With Christmas approaching, Aurora is determined to find her brother.if he's still alive.

Things are definitely looking up for Aurora Teagarden, last seen in 2003’s Poppy Done to Death, in bestseller Harris’s absorbing ninth mystery featuring the Lawrenceton, Ga., librarian. Aurora has a new husband, mystery writer Robin Crusoe, and a baby is on the way. Her 15-year-old half-brother, Phillip, has recently come to live with the newlyweds and has been settling nicely into his new life. So when Phillip and three of his friends disappear without a trace, Aurora is completely at a loss. After a fourth teen vanishes and another is found dead, Aurora and Robin, who decide that they can’t wait for the police to discover what happened to the youngsters, come up with their own plan to find them. Harris weaves a complex tale of difficult family dynamics that highlights the horrors of being a teenager. Aurora, a smart and witty protagonist, possesses all the Southern charm necessary to carry this entertaining series. 150,000 announced first printing; author tour. Agent: Joshua Bilmes, JABberwocky Literary. (Oct.)

A No. 1 New York Times best-selling author probably best known for the Sookie Stackhouse series, which famously morphed on-screen into True Blood, Harris returns with the next in her series starring librarian Aurora Teagarden. Aurora, now married to true-crime writer Robin Crusoe and pregnant, learns that four children, including her 15-year-old brother, Phillip, have wisped away into thin air after soccer practice. What's worse, a dead body lies exactly where the children were thought to be heading.

A Georgia librarian’s first pregnancy is complicated by her brother’s kidnapping.Just as Aurora Teagarden is ready to tell all the folks in Lawrenceton that she and brand-new husband Robin Crusoe are adding another new member to their family, Aurora's most recent addition, her half brother Phillip, disappears. It’s not the first time the teenager has pulled a vanishing act. He first turned up on Roe’s doorstep after running away from his California home (Night Shift, 2016), disgusted by his dad’s infidelity. Now that he’s finished a semester of state-sanctioned online instruction, he’s looking forward eagerly to joining his friends Joss and Josh Finstermeyer at the local high school. So why would Phillip and the Finstermeyer twins just take off with 11-year-old Liza Scott in tow? As the worried parents, George and Beth Finstermeyer and Emily and Aubrey Scott, converge on Roe, she retreats home, uncharacteristically devoid of coping strategies. Local police detectives Cathy Trumble and Levon Suit are stymied, even when Joss and Josh’s classmate Clayton Harrison also disappears. Discovering the body of Joss’ girlfriend, Tammy Ribble, does little to spur the police onward, as the investigation lurches sluggishly toward its foreseeable conclusion.Reshelving periodicals would provide more joy than the latest adventure of Harris’ plucky librarian, which provides scant detection and none of the domestic details series readers crave.
